Still can’t get over with the Avengers movie? Well, you are not alone for I think anyone who watched the ultimate superhero film will have a hard time getting over the movie. The flipper of the game is smaller compared to other games like the Wolverine pinball which makes the players work extra hard to gain points in the game.

The World War Hulk and fear itself are amazing additional game of the package. You can play hulk smashing villains which is perfect for a pinball game. Marvel have released an application that is simply waiting for you to download that will allow you to play some of the most intuitive pinball tables ever dreamt up from absolutely anywhere in the world on your mobile device. The application named Zen Pinball is available on Apple’s App store as well as Google Plays Android Market.

 

This is the same version as the one that has been available on the Playstation 3 and Xbox for just under a year now with the added optimisation required for use on a cell phone or tablet device. They include the highly popular Captain America and Wolverine tables and other unique tables that will not be found anywhere else of which some are in game add on’s that must be purchased.

 

Some of the tables incorporate features that only a virtual pinball table can deliver such as 3D tables with jumping pinball’s. Both the Apple and Android versions of the game have the ability to upload top scores to the world leader board and come with a variety of gaming modes fromArcadeand time limited to a marathon feature.

Marvel Pinball Update: Ghost Rider

It’s time for a pinball update but this time a more portable and lighter version of Pinballs. For the past months we have been given you updates on Pinballs from Stern which feature hi-tech tables and machines which can cost above $5,000 and above. This time, we will be giving you updates on Pinballs that can fit in your iPhones and Android smartphones and also perfect for your pocket. The game is primarily released on Xbox, Playstation and other condole games platforms.

Marvel Pinballs has been giving us amazing pinballs from their comic lines which includes fan favorites Thor, Ghost Rider, Spider Man and Captain America. This time Marvel is giving us the scorching pinball game Ghost Rider: Vengeance and Virtue. The game is blazing, fiery and a big hit to marvel fans and pinball fans as well.

The Ghost Rider pinball was released by Zen studios which is popular for creating pinball tables for Xbox and Playstation and has been teaming up with Marvels with its previous pinball table releases. The Ghost Rider: Vengeance and Virtue is rich with graphics, twists and turns and of course the Ghost Rider storyline. The video clip of the console game versions are burning and will give scare the hell out of you and of course the game play and challenging is not like other pinball games, it is harder, grittier and more hardcore.

Well, I know, it is crazy to say “storyline” when referring to a pinball table game because obviously it cannot have a plot but Ghostrider: Vengeance and Virtue has a plot and it is the stuntman Johnny Blaze / Ghost Rider battling the renegade angel Zadkiel who was summoned by Ghostrider ultimate nemesis Lucifer.

Of course, the best thing about Marvel pinballs for Xbox and Playstation is that it gets updated everytime Zen and Marvel releases new updates and you can play with your friends or other pinball fans as well.

 The Professional and Amateur Pinball Association that are also known as PAPA have announced in the last week , the details of the inaugural 2012 North West American Pinball Championships. This will be the first in a series of events that are held across theUnitedStateofAmericawhich will ultimately end up with a national championship known as Pinburgh.

 

The organisers PAPA hope to hit the North West Championships of with a bang and aim to introduce the world of pinball to a new level of audience that have previously not had exposure and experience to the world of pinball. The event will be a laid back atmosphere with the main event offering the chance to win cash prizes and seats at the nationals.

Stern’s Elvis Pinball Machine

The new Stern’s Elvis Pinball Machine is obviously not a new idea and we have played a couple of Elvis Pinball Machine in the past but this new Elvis Pinball is probably the best out there yet. It was constructed and developed by top designers and pinball engineers and the best thing about the new Elvis pinball, everyone can appreciate it and have a good time.

Imagine a mechanical Elvis singing and doing his movies like shaking his hips and doing his signatured hand moves back and forward and in perfect harmony with the real Elvis tunes being played in the background. The ELVIS® pinball machine features Elvis hit songs “See See Rider,” “Blue Suede Shoes,” “All Shook Up,” “Hound Dog,” “Jailhouse Rock,” “Heartbreak Hotel,” and “Burning Love.” The songs were actual recording of his live performance from the popular “68 Comeback Show” and the “Aloha from Hawaii” television shows. Stern probably spent huge bucks in getting the rights for the songs.

The Elvis retro theme is very visible in the design of the Pinball machine. It has 5 drop targets, 2 saucers, a spinner, 4 flippers, 12 stand-ups targets which includes hound dog, 3 bumpers 2 ramps and transparent upper playfield. The materials are laser cut and the most of the outer covering are gold colored to give an Elvis and retro theme.

The playfield of the machine features screaming fans, yes! screaming fans just like the good ol’ Elvis days which in the game doubles your score if you hit left in-lane/right ramp combo awards. The right in-lane lights the left loop ready for the Blue Suede Shoes mode and inner loop shots. The out-lanes award a 500K bonus when lit for “Elvis has left the building”. The pinball machine is similar to other pinballs but Stern made the Elvis a well polished Pinball and the ramps accompanied by Elvis music is legendary.

Another highlight of the machine is that Jerry Vanderstelt, the famed artist who made magic on the popular Lord of The Rings Trilogy has hand painted the artwork for The Elvis Pinball. The back glass has Elvis center stage with his name up in lights in the background, while the playfield has numerous Elvis images around it.

Switzerland’s Best Arcade Bar

 Area 52 in Murgental, Switzerlandis home to some of the best modern and retro pinball machines that you are likely to see in any established arcade or pinball bar. The 2011 Flipper Turnier tournament took place at Area 52 at the start of December.

The tournament was participated in by over 60 people who each paid 20 CHF to enter which works out at roughly $16 making a total prize pool of almost $1,000 payable in parts to the top three placed pinballers. The tournament had not been widely publicised outside of Switzerlandand so the majority of participants that attended the Area 52 annual were Swiss with a few from other European countries.

The tournament format was such that all entrants would play a maximum of three games on each of the 45 tables that are located inside Area 52 before the top 30 players then qualify for the final round. At this point in the evening, the finalists were paired up and each pair would tackle 15 machines. They were again allowed a maximum of 3 attempts at each table. Late in to the night the winner of the 2011 Area 52 Flipper Turnier was Swiss gentleman Levente Tregova who took home a prize pool of almost $700.
